The CW has announced the premiere of Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll, a new reality series that will follow the all-female music group/dance troop in a search for its newest member. The eight-episode series will debut Tuesday, March 6 at 9PM ET/PT.

After a nationwide audition process last fall, the judges narrowed the contestants down to the final group of nine young women who moved into a Los Angeles-based loft in the city's fashion district for the reality competition. Eac Pussycat Dolls episode will feature a specific theme, including confidence, creativity and style, which the contestants will work on with the aid of the judges and the Dolls. Weekly challenges -- ranging from "ballet dancing in toe shoes" to "designing an original Pussycat Doll-style outfit" -- will also be part of the competition.
Similar to the network's popular America's Next Top Model series (Top Model producer Ken Mok will also serve as one of Pussycat Dolls many executive producers), several celebrity guests will also make appearances on Pussycat Dolls, including Blow Out star Jonathan Antin, Robin Antin's brother Extra co-host and former Sugar Ray front-man Mark McGrath will serve as the series' host.
Antin founded the Dolls in 1993 when she was "looking for a new creative outlet" and "invited a few of her dancer friends over to play around with new routines and edgy costumes." Over time, the gatherings grew into a formal burlesque-style show, and the group eventually secured a Thursday night residency at Los Angeles nightclub The Viper Room, where they performed from 1995 to 2001 and occasionally included celebrities like Gwen Stefani, Charlize Theron, Carmen Electra, Brittany Murphy, Paris Hilton and Pamela Anderson as guest performers.
By 2002, the Dolls began being featured in magazines, television specials, ad campaigns and movies. After a few members left and a few more joined on, the Dolls debut album "PCD" was released in 2005 and produced seven singles, including "Don't Cha," the group's first big hit.
Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll is executive produced by Robin Antin, Steven Antin (another of Antin's brothers), Ron Fair, Laura Fuest, Jimmy Iovine, McG, and Mok. The series is from Warner Horizon Television, 10 by 10 Entertainment, Pussycat Dolls, LLC, Interscope A&M Records and Wonderland Sound and Vision.
