The Family Chantel featured an explosive reunion in the Dominican Republic for Chantel Everett and Pedro Jimeno's relatives that almost turned physical and wedged an even bigger divide between Chantel and Pedro during Monday night's episode on TLC.

Pedro asked Chantel to put effort in because he had tried to better relations with her relatives by going to counseling and enjoying a night at a dude ranch with her father Thomas and brother River.
But the last time Chantel saw Pedro's family, they had gotten into a fight at the dinner table.
Lidia said she was going to do her best to enjoy the day, but the tension could be cut with a knife.
Chantel exchanged pleasantries with Nicole and Lidia, but Nicole worried Chantel's family was going to cause problems when her grandmother's health was failing.
Nicole didn't want her grandmother to be disappointed, and even Pedro worried Chantel's family might upset his grandmother.
Chantel was willing to talk to her family so things would go smoothly, but Lidia said she only wanted to meet with the family to make sure they've changed and their attitudes have improved.
Pedro tried to keep the peace and prevent his family from making Chantel angry, but Chantel predicted they'd "come at" her family "with some bullsh-t."
The entire family -- Chantel's mother Karen, sister Winter, Thomas and River -- then arrived in the Dominican Republic because they were worried about Chantel and wanted to protect her. River, however, didn't want to see Pedro because he said he tolerated him but didn't actually like him.
River also thought Winter was running away from her problems with Jah, who had a secret child.

RELATED LINK: '90 DAY FIANCE' COUPLES NOWWinter refused to talk about her issues at first and just wanted to have some fun in the sun. But after her family probed for answers, Winter revealed she hadn't spoken at all to Jah.
When Chantel gathered with her family, she told Winter that Jah didn't appreciate her or else he wouldn't have lied to her for six years. The family said Jah owed Winter an explanation as well as an apology.
Winter felt her family was drilling her about a situation that wasn't her fault.
As a result, Chantel changed the subject by saying she had made "fake nice" to Lidia and Nicole at the baseball game. She didn't think the women had acted in a genuine manner at all.
But Chantel asked Karen and Thomas if they'd be willing to have dinner with Lidia and Nicole. Karen accused Pedro's family of trying to trick her and then covering it up. Karen seemed to think Lidia and Nicole were manipulative bullies.
"I was hesitant at first, but Pedro was right. If our families are both here, we should at least try to get them together to work on our relationship," Chantel said in a confessional.
"Two people fell in love, both families don't want them to be together and they're always feuding. I hope this doesn't end up like Romeo and Juliet in which we both drink poison and then I stab myself."
Karen and Thomas didn't trust Lidia and Nicole at all, so they thought it was suspicious the women were suddenly being nice to Chantel. But Lidia told the cameras she truly was hoping for peace.

Lidia intended to be on her best behavior because Pedro had reminded her of his plan to bring them to the United States so they could be together and how crucial Chantel would be in executing that plan.
Lidia said Pedro, as the man of the house, always wanted to take care of her and Nicole and protect them.
But Nicole told her mother that Chantel's family was "crazy" and seemed to be part of a satanic cult because they'd pray and then fight. She brought up the moment River had allegedly lunged at Pedro across the dinner table.
"If the situation turns violent, it won't be with Nicole anymore. Chantel's mother, now she's going to have to step to me and I'm going to snatch her wig, and I'm going to sweep the floor with it and take her entire wig," Lidia said in a confessional.
Pedro, Chantel, Karen, Thomas, Lidia and Nicole then met in a courtyard to talk -- outside of a restaurant where no one was around -- in case things got out of hand.
Pedro said if this meeting didn't go well, it could "break" his marriage.
When everyone got together, Karen noted her family flew to the Dominican Republic to support Pedro because they loved Pedro and Chantel, but Nicole and Lidia were shocked to hear they had love for him.
The two families had trouble communicating with Pedro as the translator, but Nicole basically accused Chantel's family of physically attacking her.

Chantel's family, however, tried to say they were just trying to protect Chantel in that moment and they'd probably do the same for Pedro in that scenario.
"If somebody jumps on top of you, I would hope that somebody rip they're weave out," Chantel said.
"If someone jumped, they would protect you," Karen said simultaneously.

Lidia appeared shocked as Chantel yelled that's not what she meant. Lidia argued it crosses the line to attack someone physically and she'd snatch Karen's wig off it wasn't for Pedro's plan to bring them to America.
Lidia was then fired up and brought up the past as a result, which sparked fighting from both sides.
Pedro noted the union was going "terrible." And after Lidia pointed a finger at Chantel and stood up, Karen stood up in defense of her daughter and the confrontation quickly got heated.
Lidia called Chantel's family "a bad example" of an American family, but Chantel said all of her loved ones work hard and the women are strong, independent and don't rely on men.
"You invite my children to your house and then you assault them," Lidia noted.

Thomas declared the meeting needed to end when the screaming didn't stop, and Karen said she felt as if she had been in "the spirit of Satan." Chantel stood up for her family because she was upset Pedro wasn't translating for them correctly.
Chantel accused Nicole and Lidia of "poisoning" Pedro so he'd work against her. Chantel thought Pedro was going to tell his family to leave the past in the past, but she realized they weren't on the same page.
Karen called Nicole "crazy" and simply said they were "over it" all.
Meanwhile, Pedro was angry at Chantel because he felt she didn't understand him and wouldn't stand by him. Pedro hoped Chantel would at least listen to his mother's concerns and answer questions when she had them.
"They're not receptive to any kindness," Chantel told Karen, before telling the cameras, "I hope all dogs go to heaven because Pedro's mom and sister are complete b-tches."

Chantel wondered if this was all a setup in which Pedro was trying to make her feel like Lidia and Nicole are good people so they could take advantage of her in some way.
But as Chantel said this, Lidia and Nicole vented bout how Chantel was fake and not sincere.

Karen was glad the fight ended before she had to kick someone's ass, and then Lidia was shown telling Pedro to just end his marriage and let her go.
The episode ended with a blowout fight, with Pedro accusing Chantel of disrespecting him. But Chantel said Pedro disrespected her by not translating her parents' statements correctly.
"This fight would never have started if Pedro would've just translated it correctly. But he refused to translate what my mom and dad were saying, so Pedro's family used this as an opportunity to drudge up the past again," Chantel explained in a confessional.
Chantel was angry because Pedro was supposed to have her back, yet she claimed he was making everything worse. Chantel said Pedro added fuel to the fire.
Pedro said there was a double standard, but Chantel told Pedro he allowed his mother and sister to say whatever they wanted to her -- yet she couldn't say whatever she wanted to them.
On that note, Chantel stormed out of their hotel room, and Pedro acknowledged she always ran away before they could reach a resolution or agreement.
