The Family Chantel featured Chantel Everett planning a risky last-ditch effort to save her marriage to Pedro Jimeno after he asked for a separation, and Nicole Jimeno revealing she had a miscarriage with Alejandro's baby during the Season 4 episode that aired Monday night on TLC.

Chantel's father Thomas Everett said he couldn't help Chantel if she wasn't willing to talk to them and open up, and Karen was feeling shut out and upset over that.
Karen therefore took Chantel antique shopping for a day of bonding, but Chantel was creating "boundaries" and didn't want to tell her family about Pedro wanting a separation from her.
"I'm a grown adult and will handle this on my own. If anybody should be supporting me, it should be my husband. So I'll keep beating a dead horse until it comes alive," Chantel told the cameras.
Karen advised Chantel to give her relationship some time, but Chantel said things had been wrong for a long time and they weren't getting any better. Chantel explained how she was growing tired of being patient, and Karen wished she had more clarity and understanding.
Meanwhile, Pedro returned to work after his awkward and embarrassing fight with Chantel at the bar in front of his friends. Pedro apologized to his co-workers for the explosive public display, and he was clearly feeling defeated.
Pedro explained to his co-worker Antonella how Chantel always blamed him for their problems by pointing the finger at either his family or his new real estate career.
Antonella told Pedro that he wasn't spending much time with his wife anymore and she would have talked to Chantel about the situation had she known about the mistrust and jealousy.
Pedro didn't feel Chantel was supportive or respected him or his new job, but Chantel believed Pedro had been trying to hurt her intentionally.
"I feel like she's being selfish. Let me... grow," Pedro lamented to his boss at work.

Over in the Dominican Republic, Alejandro was trying to make changes so that Nicole would take him back and they could continue on with a stronger, healthier relationship. Alejandro needed to relinquish control and give Nicole more freedom in their relationship.
Nicole never told her mother Lidia that Alejandro was visiting their home country to win her back because Lidia hated him, but Lidia eventually found out by seeing Nicole's phone and allegedly reacted in "a very ugly way."
"She told me I was a liar, that I don't value myself. And those kinds of things, if they come from someone else, they don't matter. But when they come from your mom, it can cause you great pain," Nicole explained in a confessional.
Lidia thought Alejandro was "trash" and a "maniac," and so Nicole told her best friend Coraima how her life was "a total mess."
Nicole still loved Alejandro despite their problems, and so she said it was going to be very difficult to detach herself from him. However, Nicole wanted to make her mother, her "heart" and "life," happy.
Nicole had been ignoring Alejandro as a result, but she felt she had already lost her mother and brother. Nicole cried about nearing her thirties without any chance of starting a family of her own.
Nicole then explained to the cameras how she had slept with Alejandro to determine if they still had love between them as well as a burning flame.

Coraima said people have to make difficult decisions in life, and Nicole seemingly didn't know what to do or how to proceed.

Back in Atlanta, Pedro returned home from work, and the pair barely looked at each other after a hard day.
"I don't want a separation. I don't want him to move out of the house. The moment he moves out of the house, I feel like it'll be over," Chantel shared in a confessional.
Pedro accused Chantel of not being able to control herself in public, but Chantel explained how she was so upset that she couldn't hold back her feelings and emotions anymore. Chantel also felt she couldn't talk to Pedro about what was bothering her.
Chantel apologized to Pedro for lashing out at him in front of his co-workers, but Pedro reiterated how things had "not been good."
Chantel opened up to Pedro about how she didn't want a separation and felt "pathetic" because she had been "begging for affection and attention" from her husband that she allegedly never received.
Chantel said she didn't know of a single couple that separated and got back together because they ignore their problems and drift further apart, but Pedro said it wasn't healthy for them to fight every night.
"Forget about that," Pedro griped.
Pedro told the cameras that his problems with Chantel began once he started his new job. He walked away from the conversation, and so Chantel felt ignored and cursed, which prompted Pedro to say, "Good job. You know how to end a conversation."
Pedro thought that in order to find happiness, Chantel may not be able to be in his future.
After Winter was shown getting ready for a date with a man she had met on a Christian dating app, Nicole said she was going through a time of depression and anxiety.

"Because I went to college, I grew up far from the countryside, and I [am] making the same mistakes that the women in my family had made before."
When Nicole told Alejandro about the baby, he said he'd be a totally responsible father, even if he had to get three jobs to support his child. Alejandro promised he would support Nicole and take care of her and the baby, which made Nicole think that he truly loved her.

Nicole was therefore confused because she wasn't even sure if Alejandro was divorced from his wife yet.
However, Nicole started to experience a lot of bleeding and so she visited a clinic and learned she had lost the baby. Nicole felt "sad" about the miscarriage, and Alejandro said he also felt terrible because he was ready to marry Nicole and start a family with her.
Nicole had allegedly told Alejandro that she was ready for that with him as well, which Alejandro said wasn't easy for her to say.
Nicole told Alejandro how she needed time to digest everything that happened and she had no plans of telling her mother or anyone else. The only person who knew about the baby and the miscarriage was Alejandro, who said he wanted to come back to the Dominican Republic to be with her.
Nicole, however, asked him not to come and said she felt totally alone. She was going through the most painful and heartbreaking time in her life, and Nicole cried about having learned the news of her miscarriage in a clinic alone with no support.
Winter then cooked a homemade meal with her date, Zacc, with the help of an expert chef. But Winter said she didn't feel a spark or any romance with him. She also complained about Zacc -- who had been engaged twice before -- not looking her in the eye when they talked.
The episode concluded with Chantel going to the gym with her good friend Destinee. Chantel recalled how Pedro had abandoned her at the bar and then asked for a separation, which completely shocked Destinee.

Chantel was still desperate for her marriage to work, and so she thought about flying to the Dominican Republic and trying to repair things with Lidia. Chantel wanted to demonstrate her willingness to reach out an olive branch in order to make things work, but she didn't seem to consider patching things up with Nicole.
"Maybe he'll see that a relationship is worth it," Chantel told her friend.
Chantel said she realized this move was "crazy, impulsive and desperate," but in her heart, she felt like she was doing the right thing. Chantel figured it would be the only thing that could potentially save her marriage.
"But I can't tell my mom or anybody. I am going to lie," Chantel said.
"But when my marriage is saved and Pedro sees the progress I've made with his family, his opinion [will change] and it will all be worth it. [Pedro]'s opinion is the only thing I care about."
Destinee didn't think this was a good idea, but she told Chantel that she would support her and be there for her no matter what.
