After only a few one-on-one dates with Joan on The Golden Bachelorette, Chock decided to get down on one knee and pop the question to Joan at the Final Rose Ceremony in Bora Bora.

Joan and Chock's engagement aired on The Golden Bachelorette finale earlier this month, and Chock was asked about their fast-moving relationship during a recent episode of the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast.

"There is a thing called self-check, and it's something I've done my whole life," Chock told Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt.

"It's when I look in the mirror and I ask myself -- from the dealings I've had to relationships to business deals -- and I go, 'Are you okay with this?'"

When recalling the night before he proposed marriage to Joan, Chock shared, "I looked in the mirror and said, 'Are you okay with this?' And I didn't feel a [negative] thing about it. I thought, 'Absolutely.'"

Chock gushed, "I had the chance of a lifetime to spend the rest of my life with the most incredible woman I've ever met, and it was just instantly."

Chock also shared how The Golden Bachelorette's casting director had warned him before the show started filming that a season typically ends in an engagement.

"The last conversation before she told me that I was going to be on the show, she goes, 'And you know that there's a strong chance or strong probability this is going to end in an engagement?'" Chock revealed.

"So that was another self-check, and I said, 'Absolutely, I'm ready for it.'"

Chock therefore said he was "very happy" to pop the question and he had totally "thought through it" before the Final Rose Ceremony.

"You are taking a leap of faith, but I'm very happy I did it," Chock noted. "And I have absolutely zero regrets -- no regrets whatsoever!"

Chock insisted that even if Joan wasn't by his side for this podcast interview, he would've had the same response.

"I am a very transparent person, and I've got to tell you, I was just blessed to have the whole thing happen," Chock said.

Chock said his two prior long-term relationships with his ex-wife and late fiancee "stand on their own" and those women were both "great people," but he clarified that Joan is "incredible" for his life right now.

Following Joan and Chock's engagement in Bora Bora, the pair sailed away together on a cruise ship.

"We go back to the cruise ship, which was just incredible, and we went into Joan's room and we sat down and looked at each other, and I go, 'Alright, tell me about yourself!'" Chock quipped.

Chock said while being engaged in that moment was "surreal," he thought he did "have a lot of time" with Joan beforehand.

"The cameras don't show all the time that we had together, but you're living in a bubble and it's fast tracked," Chock explained.

The insurance executive from Kansas added, "But really, our compatibility, attraction and love for each other just started instantly."

Chock also suggested the Fantasy Suite was a gamechanger for their relationship because they were able to talk for hours off-camera "about a lot of different things" until the early morning hours.

"It was 3 or 4AM [when Chock left]," Joan revealed.

"We didn't have a bedroom and so I did the walk of shame back to my room," Chock joked. "It was funny. But our communication, we're so much alike. I'm very blessed and I'm lucky to have her."

Chock also said he knew that Joan was for him because he didn't want to leave her after they got engaged.

"It was just this weird feeling, like, we were going back to our worlds -- our own lives -- and I didn't want to do it," Chock admitted.

"It was a tough goodbye for me, and that's when you know you've got the right person."

Joan had selected Chock over her runner-up bachelor, Guy Gansert, who was also falling in love with Joan during the show.

Guy had been hoping to meet Joan's family, but Joan decided to break up with him in Bora Bora before he could even have that chance.

Guy admitted he was "heartbroken" and "devastated" by his breakup with Joan, but he assured viewers he was doing okay during the live After the Final Rose special.

As for what's next for the happy couple, Joan plans to stay in Maryland and Chock will continue living in Kansas.

However, Joan and Chock are going to spend the holidays together with Joan's family and then begin apartment hunting in New York City.

Joan and Chock said they'd like to have a convenient meet-up spot where they can spend time together in the Big Apple.

Joan and Chock also shared how they have many international trips planned for 2025 -- including stops in Africa and France.
