After Joan and Chock's beautiful engagement in Bora Bora aired on The Golden Bachelorette's November 13 finale, the couple revealed to Us Weekly that they're going to start looking for a place together in New York City later this week.

"This first year, obviously, we have to kind of figure out life. Chock has a business in Kansas. I have kids and grandkids and Maryland. I'm not leaving Maryland, but he does have obligations in Kansas," Joan explained to Us.

"We know that we're going to spend time in Maryland and in Kansas, but then we have this really fun plan because both of us have always dreamed -- and we're finally at this weird stage in life for making this dream come true -- that we live in a big city, and, specifically, we've always wanted to live in New York."

Joan added, "So Chock surprised me and said, 'I want us to go find a place.'"

Joan and Chock are therefore excited to start apartment hunting and taking on new adventures together.

"We both love the energy in the city and love that there's always something to do," Joan shared.

"We just want to go out and walk and experience life -- go to fun restaurants and [experience the] culture. We both have friends there. We're going to be there during the holidays, which is the best time ever in New York City."

Joan gushed about how their new life in NYC will be "really different" from anything they've ever experienced.

Joan also pointed out how Chock's two kids -- Taylor, 25, and Tyler, 23, whom he shares with his ex-wife, Heather -- also live on the East Coast.

"That makes the decision maybe a little bit easier. And I don't think I'd ever thought I would say this, but I'm excited to go and spend time in Kansas [too]!" Joan gushed of the insurance executive's native state.

"He has a great life there and he has great friends, and I am dying to go and just hang out with them. He's out, like, every night of the week, and I can hear the hubbub in the background of all his friends, you know, having a good time. So I'm excited to go to Kansas."

Chock told the magazine that given Joan's four kids -- Nick, 34, Erica, 33, Allison, 30, and Luke, 28 -- are in Maryland, he'd "never" ask his new fiancee to permanently move too far away from them.

Joan also has three grandchildren whom she loves spending time with in Maryland.

"We're going to navigate it. We're willing to spend time at each person's hometown," Chock explained.

"We're going to spend a lot of time in New York City. We're going to get on with our lives."

But before Joan and Chock head to the Big Apple, they're going to celebrate their engagement with family and friends.

Joan and Chock will be the guests of honor at a huge engagement party in Los Angeles, CA, before they travel to the East Coast.

"It's going to be bigger than most weddings," Chock boasted of the big bash.

"We've got friends coming in from around the country, and it's kind of our coming-out party as a couple. We're extremely excited about that."

When Joan was down to two bachelors on The Golden Bachelorette, Chock and Nevada-based ER doctor Guy Gansert, Chock met Joan's family and then gifted her a red-heart keychain to symbolize his commitment to her and desire to live with her in New York City.

Joan was overwhelmed with emotion because Chock -- who also said, "I love you," to Joan at that point -- was willing to make one of her dreams come true.

The next morning, Joan determined that she was also "in love" with Chock and so it would be best to send Guy home immediately.

Joan therefore ousted Guy before he even had the chance to meet her children.

When Joan and Chock reunited at the Final Rose Ceremony in Bora Bora, Joan expressed her love to Chock for the first time, and then he got down on one knee and proposed marriage.

"I've only been in love with one person -- more than one now. I love Chock and I want to spend the rest of my life with him," Joan told The Golden Bachelorette cameras.

Joan and Chock still seemed happy and crazy about each other on the live After the Final Rose special.
