In a preview of what's to come, there appears to be tension in the air when Pascal, 70, tells the cameras to go away as he's walking down a hallway with Joan, 61.
Fans have been speculating if Pascal was angry, brokenhearted or about to hurt Joan in that moment.
"We were trying to have a private moment to talk about something that was important," Joan explained to Us Weekly of that moment.
"We were having a hard time doing it without cameras around us. So Pascal was trying to get the cameras away."
Joan had a lovely time with Pascal on his hometown date in Chicago. She visited his beauty salon and met his sweet kids, who claimed that Pascal was "so sick of dating" and truly wanted to find The One.
But Joan left the hometown date feeling a little uneasy and insecure.
Pascal, for instance, had spoken to Joan about how he was hesitant to open up his heart all the way.
"I've had my heart broken many times. I was in a relationship and I got hurt big time, so if you feel me guarded, just give me a little time to build my trust," Pascal told The Golden Bachelorette star.
Joan admitted to Pascal that she wasn't sure if he was really "into" her because he tended to fade into the background a little bit during prior group dates.
"I still have a little wall... It's going to take me time, but I definitely want to have a companion," Pascal said, adding that things were "moving in the right direction" and he felt "confident" in their relationship.

Pascal's feelings for Joan were clearly growing, but Joan wasn't sure if Pascal was ready for a commitment.
"My biggest fear is that I will pick him and he won't pick me too," Joan told Pascal's daughter. "Because it's a two-way street. It goes both ways."
Pascal's daughter insisted that Joan and Pascal looked amazing together and would be a great match, but Joan simply wasn't convinced that she and Pascal were on the same page.
A part of Joan feared that she liked Pascal more than he liked her, even though she had been warmly welcomed into his family.
While Guy and Chock both told the cameras that they were "falling" for Joan and could envision proposing marriage to her at the end of the process, Pascal didn't seem to be there yet emotionally during hometowns.
"The fact that his walls are up makes me a little hesitant because I have strong feelings for him. I don't know if he's ready and if he'll ever get there," Joan concluded.
"All of this is getting really real, and I'm getting scared."

"I went through some really, really, really tough emotional times that made me think, 'I'm not sure if I can do this,'" Joan revealed.
While Joan couldn't give away how exactly her time on the show ended, she revealed that leaving The Golden Bachelorette engaged was not her top priority.

In fact, Joan said she didn't really care about returning home to Maryland with a diamond ring on her finger.
"I know everyone wants to see this big, epic happy ending, but I had to do what was right for me," Joan said of her Final Rose Ceremony.
Joan added of her season's outcome, "This was not about making a TV show for me -- it was about finding love."
