The announcement was made on the show's official Facebook page, which also shared a brief trailer of The Hills' upcoming revival.

"Some memories last forever. Now it's time to start all over again," teases the video.

The Hills: New Beginnings will star original cast members Audrina Patridge, Brody Jenner, Frankie Delgado, Heidi Pratt, Jason Wahler, "Justin Bobby" Brescia, Spencer Pratt, Stephanie Pratt and Whitney Port as well as newcomers Kaitlynn Carter, Jennifer Delgado, Ashley Wahler, and Brandon Thomas Lee.

In addition, Mischa Barton -- who rose to fame by playing Marissa Cooper on Fox's The O.C. from its 2003 premiere until her character's Season 3 death in 2006 -- has also joined the cast.

Mischa's The O.C. series inspired MTV's pioneering reality series Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County, which premiered in 2004 and ultimately led to production on The Hills.

The Hills: New Beginnings will follow the cast members as they navigate their personal and professional lives in Los Angeles, CA. For some of the stars, that includes parenting.

The trailer released by MTV on Tuesday initially flashes back to scenes from the original The Hills series, which aired for six seasons from 2006 to 2010, including Spencer's marriage proposal to Heidi on a ferris wheel.

The trailer -- which features The Hills' theme song "Unwritten" by Natasha Bedingfield playing in the background -- then shows scenes from current day, including Audrina and ex-boyfriend Justin Bobby trying to figure out their relationship.

"I don't even know where to start," Audrina says while out to dinner with Justin Bobby.

"With you and I?" Justin asks in the video.

"Yeah, 'friend,'" Audrina replies with a smile.

The fact MTV had ordered a revival of The Hills was first announced in late August at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards held at New York's Radio City Music Hall. Several of the cast members made an appearance to celebrate the new show.

As previously reported, The Hills' biggest names, Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallari -- both of whom had also starred on Laguna Beach -- will not participate in The Hills: New Beginnings due to other responsibilities and projects.

Lo Bosworth will also not be gracing the reality show with her presence.

The Hills: New Beginnings is being produced by MTV and Evolution Media.
