Lauren "L.C." Conrad broke the MTV-imposed "media blackout" on The Hills' cast members, but not to sling some more mud at her former BFF Heidi Montag.

Last week an MTV insider said the network suspended The Hills' entire third-season cast from speaking with the media because "tensions were so high... people were starting to worry about security concerns on all sides." However the more likely reason the gag order was imposed was so all of the drama caught on film for The Hills' currently airing third season wouldn't wain in comparison to what was going on in the press.
Either way, Conrad said her feud with Montag on-camera is just as real as if no one were watching.
"I wouldn't fight for the camera," she told Seacrest, according to People. "If anything, I would try not to."
Conrad and Montag aren't the first pair of reality stars to go from BFFs to verbal sparring partners, as ex-The Simple Life stars Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie also fought before eventually rekindling their relationship. However Conrad doesn't see she and Montag making nice anytime soon.
"I mean I don't think so, you never know though. Probably not," she told Seacrest, People reported. "I can see us getting to not hating each other but I don't think we would ever go back to being best friends."
