The Proposal's latest engaged couple, Michael Neely and Ashley Joyce, have revealed the current status of their relationship.

Michael, a former The Proposal contestant and third-place finisher from Los Angeles, CA, served as the mystery man in Monday night's episode of The Proposal and ultimately popped the question to his final pick, Ashley, a 27-year-old kickboxing instructor from Sacramento, CA.

Ashley accepted Michael's marriage proposal and a Neil Lane diamond engagement ring after he chose her over Jasmyn Alston, a 29-year-old teacher from Greensboro, NC.

So are Michael and Ashley an item to this day? And are they still engaged?

The Proposal's social media accounts unfortunately revealed the couple has called it quits on their romance and ended their engagement.

"Michael and Ashley have loved getting to know each other, but have ultimately decided they are better off as friends. We wish them all the best! #TheProposal," tweeted the show late Monday night.

Alongside the caption was a couple of photos of Michael and Ashley enjoying some time together and looking cozy, so it's unfortunate the cute couple didn't work out.

Ashley was one of 10 women who competed for Michael's heart in four rounds of pageant-style competition, including swimwear and "dealbreaker questions," in an episode that filmed several months ago.

Until only two ladies remained in the running for Michael's heart, Michael's identity and appearance was concealed from the contestants.

A couple things that seemed to stand out to Michael was the fact Ashley has rapping skills and called herself "a good woman."

She made it known she's looking for a genuine man with whom to be in a serious relationship.

The crowd, however, had clearly selected Jasmyn -- who recently experienced a dramatic weight-loss and shift in confidence -- as the favorite to win.

Michael chose Ashley over the screams and chants of the audience in Jasmyn's favor.

Despite The Proposal's frivolous format in which individuals have less than one hour to get to know someone before getting engaged, the show has boasted a decent success rate so far, with many couples deciding to stay together or engaged.
