The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Kim Zolciak and husband Kroy Biermann recently called off their divorce and decided to stay together, but their road to happily ever after is reportedly going to be a bumpy one.

Kim, 44, filed to dismiss her divorce from the former NFL football player, 37, on July 7, just two short months after their divorce filings.

At that point, Kim and Kroy were "getting along" and doing what they thought would be best for their kids, according to Us Weekly, and so they began the process of reconciling after more than a decade of marriage.

"They are still living together, but every day is an uphill battle," a source told the magazine of the former sparring spouses, adding how the peace probably won't last forever.

"Those close to them think the reconciliation will be short-lived."

The source claimed The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum and Kroy are still dealing with issues in their relationship.

"There's simply too much bad blood and hatred toward each other," the source explained.

"There's a lot of sh-t talking, and it's hard to see how this will be resolved amicably. They are also not seeking counseling."

Kim and Kroy got married in 2011 and both filed divorce paperwork back in May. They reportedly listed April 30 as their official date of separation.

Kroy claimed in the documents that his marriage to the reality TV star was "irretrievably broken," although they hoped they could continue co-parenting amicably.

Kroy also requested "the temporary and permanent sole legal and sole physical custody" of his and his ex's four children this past spring. He and Kim share sons Kroy "KJ" Jr., 11, and Kash, 10, as well as nine-year-old twins Kaia and Kane.

Given The Real Housewives alum and Kroy were still living together in their shared home in Alpharetta, GA, amid their breakup, Kroy asked for ownership of the property and to have Kim "restrained" from entering the house.

Kroy -- who also adopted Kim's daughters from a previous relationship: Brielle, 26, and Ariana, 21 -- also requested child support in his divorce filing.

The Real Housewives alum, for her part, filed a motion on May 16 to have Kroy drug tested because she had allegedly caught him "smoking marijuana." Kim claimed she has "serious concerns for the safety and well being of the minor children while in Respondent's care."

Kim also said she was "fearful" that her children would be "exposed" to Kroy's "drug use."

A custody battle therefore ensued, and things got nasty between the spouses.

Kroy, for example, alleged that Kim had a gambling problem, and he requested that she undergo a psychological evaluation.

The Real Housewives alum fired back via her lawyer and alleged that Kroy was telling "harmful and incredibly misleading" lies in a statement to People.

Kroy also claimed that Kim's friend Elise Humphries had attempted to kidnap their son and that he intended to file "kidnapping [charges] for his son going to the rodeo" with Elise.

Kim denied the kidnapping allegations in a call with the police, and Elise also shot down the accusation.

"There was zero kidnapping. I took KJ, one of [my daughter] Alanna's closest friends, to the Blairsville annual rodeo that he was super excited about," Elise reportedly wrote via Instagram Stories earlier this summer.

"His mother Kim, who is an incredible mom and friend, gave me permission and brought him to meet me & his two best friends, one is my daughter."

When Kim and Kroy's split made headlines, their own friends were allegedly "shocked" to hear about the marital issues.

"It was something she really kept hidden, even from her inner circle of friends," an insider told Us in May.

The Real Housewives alum and Kroy have apparently been plagued by financial burdens and tax debt for at least a year. An insider told Us that money has been "a strain" on their relationship and "it's been difficult" for them.

Several months before Kim and Kroy filed for divorce, their Georgia home was reportedly in foreclosure because they had defaulted on their mortgage payments in Summer 2022.

The Manor Golf & Country Club property was scheduled to be auctioned off to the highest bidder in early 2023, but the auction was later canceled.

TMZ recently reported that Kim and Kroy owed $1.1 million in back taxes.

"The tax debt was the straw that broke the camel's back in their marriage," the Us insider added.

The Real Housewives alum told Fox News in October 2017 that divorce was "not an option" in her house and that her marriage would always come before reality TV.

When news of Kim and Kroy's shocking split first surfaced, Bravo executive producer Andy Cohen sent the pair his condolences.

"It's a sad thing. They have kids, and that was just a couple that seemed very much in love," Andy reportedly said on SiriusXM's "Andy Cohen Live" in May.

"I was very surprised. That was not the news I ever expected to get. They were a couple that I thought they were in it for the long haul. [I was] very surprised [and I am] sorry to hear that."

Kim made a cameo on Season 15 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta's July 9 episode. During the episode, she gushed about how her marriage was "great" after 11 years with Kroy.

But Us reported that Kim won't be returning to the Bravo reality series as a regular cast member in the future.

Kim began starring on The Real Housewives of Atlanta in 2008, and she remained on the series until 2012.

Kim also filmed two Bravo spinoffs. In addition to Don't Be Tardy, which aired for eight seasons from 2012 to 2020, Kim's 2011 wedding was also documented on Don't Be Tardy for the Wedding.
