The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Cynthia Bailey has confirmed she's going to follow through with divorcing Peter Thomas, her husband of six years and significant other for nine years.

"I will always love Peter and have his back," Bailey, 49, told Us Weekly. "[But] there was a lot of internal unhappiness. I wasn't at peace."

The reality TV star said she takes most of the responsibility for the demise of her marriage.

"Peter never felt like he was my No. 1 priority," Bailey said, confessing that her 17-year-old daughter from a previous relationship, Noelle, was always her focus. "He was right. She was [my priority]."

"I was in love with Peter, but I'm just not wife material... I couldn't give up Cynthia Bailey to be Cynthia Bailey Thomas," she added.

Bailey and Thomas -- who is still in contact with Noelle -- reportedly intend to finalize a settlement before officially filing for divorce. The exes communicate primarily via text now and hope to have the paperwork completed by January of next year.

But Bailey doesn't seem worried at all about their finances or division of assets.

"We had no children together, so what's his is his and what's mine is mine," Bailey said, citing her prenup.

It may come as a surprise to fans Bailey is blaming herself for the collapse of her marriage, because as shown on The Real Housewives of Atlanta last season, Thomas was caught kissing and touching a female clubgoer at his Charlotte business, Bar One, in a June 2015 video.

"He was just being social," Bailey explained to Us. "I believe with every ounce of oxygen and bone in my body that Peter never had sex with another woman."

The reality TV star announced the couple was separating in late May after Thomas, 56, relocated to Charlotte, NC, in January.

The first time Bailey hung out with Thomas since their separation was when The Real Housewives cast took a trip to Maui in early October for the show's ninth season and he randomly showed up. Thomas was apparently invited by Kandi Burruss' husband, Todd Tucker.

"I think Kandi was hoping for a love reconnection," Bailey revealed. "It was Peter's birthday and there was talk of, 'Technically, you guys are still married. He needs a little birthday booty!' I may or may not have entertained that notion."

As for whether she's ready to get back out into the dating world, Bailey told the magazine, "There's something very scary about turning 50 and being by yourself. I just have to believe everything will be okay."

However, Bailey claims one thing is for sure when it comes to the future of her love life.

"I will never be in a relationship again where it will take a lawyer for me to walk away. I will never marry again," she insisted.

Bailey joined The Real Housewives of Atlanta for Season 3 back in 2010. The series will return to Bravo on Sunday, November 6 at 8PM ET/PT.
