Wendy Feldman, the crisis manager of Joe and wife Teresa Giudice -- who both pleaded guilty to fraud charges back in March and are currently in a legal battle and facing jail time -- explained what happened on the day of Frank's passing.
"Joe and his dad were chasing the dog Simba and suddenly Franco fell ill," Feldman told Us, adding that the Giudice clan is focusing on "their family right now, especially the girls."
However, TMZ reported that Frank had fallen to the ground when he was building a chicken coup in the garden. Joe and Teresa reportedly believe Frank, who had no apparent health issues, had suffered a massive heart attack.
Frank is survived by three children -- Joe, Maria and Pete -- as well as four grandchildren, who are Joe and Teresa's daughters -- Gia, Gabriella, Milania and Audriana.
Teresa and Joe had pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud as well as three counts of bankruptcy fraud as part of a plea deal to resolve their 41-count federal fraud indictment. They've since requested separate trials and prison time.
