Accused White House party crashers Tareq and Michaele Salahi made a surprise appearance at a taping of "Late Show with David Letterman" in New York.
CBS said the couple crashed Letterman's monologue during the taping of the episode set to air Tuesday night.
"Letterman was in the middle of telling jokes during his monologue when the smiling Salahis walked out and posed alongside Letterman briefly for 'photographers' on the stage of the Ed Sullivan Theater, and exited the stage while the audience wildly applauded," the network said in a news release.
"See, it's interesting to me," Letterman joked, "for all practical purposes, they're trespassing. But, the crowd goes wild!"
The Salahis gained notoriety when they were accused of crashing the White House State Dinner honoring the prime minister of India last November, even getting to meet U.S. President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden.
The couple recently made news again when they were stopped by Secret Service the night of May 19 near the White House, the same night as the State Dinner being held there for Mexican President Felipe Calderon.
However, the Salahis insist it was a coincidence and they were simply on their way to a dinner party at a nearby restaurant with friends.
