The Swan's celebrity version is slated to begin production this spring and air later this year.
"Celebrity Swan will feature female celebrities and will offer these popular women the incredible opportunity to undergo physical, psychological and career changes as cameras follow them through the transformative process. This opportunity will allow these women to come back better than ever, have a second chance at personal and career redemption and re-introduce themselves to their supportive fans in a whole new way," according to EW.
Producers are beginning the casting process for the upcoming special, and while no names have officially been announced, former White House intern Monica Lewinsky and former Happy Days star Erin Moran are being considered, Deadline Hollywood reported.
The Swan's first season debuted in April 2004 and its second season premiered in October of that same year. Fox had announced plans for a third season of The Swan, but due to low ratings, the series was canceled in early 2005.
The original version of The Swan featured two women going head-to-head in each episode with one moving on to the next round. In the end, one woman was crowned "The Swan" after competing in a final beauty pageant.
The Swan's celebrity revival is reportedly being produced by FremantleMedia and Galan Entertainment with Nely Galan and Arthur Smith serving as executive producers.
