The Voice concluded its twelfth-season "The Battle Round" with several breakout performances during Tuesday night's one-hour episode on NBC.

When the above artists were declared victorious, the contestants sent home were Team Alicia's Lauryn Judd from Draper City, UT, and Team Adam's Taylor Alexander from Flowery Branch, GA.
During "The Battle Round," a coach pairs two of his or her team members up against one another to sing a duet. The artists attempt to stand out and deliver a better performance than their opponents. In this round, each coach is allowed two "steals," meaning an artist who loses a face-off may be stolen by a different coach so he or she can resume competing on The Voice.
The lucky person who was stolen in last night's broadcast was Davina Leone from Los Angeles, CA, who went from Gwen's team to Adam's team.
The night began with Alicia and her team adviser DJ Khaled matching up Lilli and Lauryn for a Battle in which they had to sing "Every Little Bit Hurts."
Alicia was proud the artists are so aware of who they are and want to be, and she said the Battle evolved into a performance that complemented each singer individually, which showed "true artistry." In the end, Alicia selected Lilli as the winner because she showed a "strength and aggression" in her performance that was "really exciting" for the coach.
In another Battle, Adam -- who is working with John Legend as his team adviser -- paired Jesse with Taylor for a performance of "Shameless."
Since both artists were one-chair turns in "The Blind Auditions," Adam was glad he saw something in them that no other coach had. Adam explained that Taylor did his thing and didn't try to compete with what Jesse brings to the table, which was a good thing. Adam told Jesse that he performs "effortlessly," before telling both team members they brought joy to that duet.
Adam decided to declare Jesse the winner of the Battle because he is "one of the more interesting, dynamic and unique vocalists" on the show. Adam was later shown telling his other coaches that Jesse could be a dark horse in this competition and potentially rise to the top. Adam said he's "like a [Sundance Head]," who won the show last season, adding that Jesse will "sneak up on everybody."
The final Battle of the season belonged to Gwen and her team adviser Celine Dion. Gwen matched Brandon and Davina up for the Battle in which they were asked to sing "In The Night."
Gwen was so impressed with both artists. She loved how Davina sang in a fearless manner and really took all of Celine's great choreography advice. Gwen also enjoyed listening to Brandon in a pop world, saying that emotion can definitely be heard in his voice and he sings with such natural ability and ease.
Gwen opted to advance Brandon to "The Knockout Rounds," however, Adam ended up stealing Davina for his own team. Adam said it didn't make sense for Davina to go home at this point because she sang the song perfectly.

Next week, The Voice's Knockouts begin in which two team members are paired against one another again, except this time, each artist sings a song of his or her own choosing individually.
