The Voice coach Blake Shelton has filed a lawsuit against a tabloid for a sensational story he claims is false and defamatory.

Shelton is suing In Touch Weekly's parent company Bauer Media for "no less than $1 million" after the magazine published a cover story about how he's going to rehab three months after ending his marriage to Miranda Lambert, People reported.

The lawsuit was reportedly filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court by Shelton's attorney Larry Stein. Shelton is accusing the tabloid of causing damage to his "reputation, career and standing in the community."

"Blake Shelton has had enough," reads the complaint obtained by People. "[The headline] 'The Real Story: REHAB for Blake' -- which, among other things, falsely and maliciously indicates that Mr. Shelton is in rehab."

The complaint states Shelton wants to "set the record straight -- he is not in rehab, his 'close circle' is not trying to seek an intervention, and he is, in fact, hard at work on The Voice and other projects."

In Touch claimed Shelton "hit rock bottom," worries his friends he "could end up dead at this rate," drank too much and womanized throughout his four-year marriage, is the subject of a potential intervention, and was "caught" with "a bunch of naked women" in the home he formerly shared with Lambert, according to TMZ.

Shelton is also refuting the fact In Touch wrote that he hooked up with girls at a friend's bachelor party in Mexico and had an affair with singer Cady Groves, People reported.

"The affair story was false," the complaint alleges. "They did not have a sexual relationship or affair of any nature whatsoever."

The Voice airs Monday nights at 8PM ET/PT and Tuesday nights at 9PM ET/PT on NBC.
