"If it weren't because of my music projects, I would be pregnant already," she told Latina in its April issue.
The Voice coach, 37, is dating professional soccer player Gerard Pique and hopes to have many more children with him.
"I would love to have eight or nine kids with Gerard -- my own [soccer] team," Shakira said.
"We want the same things, we like the same things, we hate the same things. I have never been with someone so passionate in my life. He's with me because he wants to be with Shakira the person, not the celebrity. There's real love, there's no ulterior motives."

Shakira tends to be very open about her personal life on social media and has posted numerous photos of her family.
"When you have a baby, when you feel his love, you feel so at peace with the world. You just want to share the good news and share how happy you feel," Shakira explained.
"I have so many people out there that celebrate with me when they know that I'm happy -- In a way I feel supported and, in a very strange way, accompanied through life. [My fans] express so much love for Milan, so much affection. I can only hope that as he grows up, he learns how to give that love back to all of those people that give him so much every day."
Shakira also talked to Latina about her upcoming album, which she's currently recording. She said it will feature reggae, rock, folk, and dance influences.
"I will always be a little bit of everything. There was a lot of fighting with myself about what direction I wanted to go. Throughout the process there were songs that I used to love at that moment and then hated a few minutes later," the singer explained, adding that she'll also be getting back into the studio soon to record another Spanish-language album.

"The relationship I have with my Hispanic fans is very deep and intricate. It's like a 20-year marriage, but with a lot of passion, with a lot of sex. There’s mutual understanding and trust."
Shakira said motherhood has actually improved her concentration at work.
"I used to go in circles around an idea, but since he arrived I don't have much time -- I have to rush back home -- so he has helped me learn how to focus," Shakira told the magazine.
In addition, Shakira explained why she loves serving as a mentor on The Voice alongside fellow coaches Usher, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. The show is currently airing it's sixth season.
"When you're an artist, you're so focused on your own [career]. It's funny to see me in this role of being a mentor and helping out other young singers achieve their own goals and shape their artistic personality," Shakira said.
