Grimmie was shot and killed Friday night while signing autographs and posing with fans for photos following an Orlando concert in which she opened for the band Before You Exit at The Plaza Live venue.

According to Orlando police, the killer has been identified as Kevin James Loibl, a 27-year-old from St. Petersburg, FL, but his motive has not yet been determined, CNN reported.

Many members from The Voice family expressed their sadness over the loss of Grimmie on social media this past weekend.

Levine later opened up even more in the following media statement obtained by Us Weekly: "[My wife Behati Prinsloo] and I are absolutely devastated and heartbroken by Christina Grimmie's tragic death. Our hearts go out to her family. Christina was a natural, a gifted talent that comes along so rarely."

Grimmie placed third on The Voice's sixth season, during which Levine, Shelton, Usher and Shakira served as the four coaches.
