Each coach was allowed only one "Steal" for his or her team during this round. An artist could only be stolen by another coach after losing his or her respective Knockout.
All the contestants were guided and assisted by The Voice's newest key adviser Miley Cyrus.
Adam matched up Brian Nhira, who sang "Grenade," with Nate Butler, who performed "Let's Stay Together." Adam told Nate he's so good and special, adding that he understood the essence of the song. Brian accomplished what Bruno Mars did with the song in that he performed "the crap out of it" as if it was his own. Adam chose Brian as the winner of the Knockout because he said he "can't survive" without him going forward.
Blake paired Brittany Kennell with Mary Sarah. Adam said Brittany worked hard to pull out her vibrato in "You're Still the One," while Mary Sarah exuded personality and a young, country sound in her performance of "You Ain't Woman Enough to Take My Man." Although they both sang "flawlessly," Blake dubbed Mary Sarah the winner.
Christina had Bryan Bautista with "Sorry" go up against Trey O'Dell with "I Lived." Christina said Bryan was so versatile and has surprises around every corner with his voice. On the other hand, Trey took control of the song and became increasingly more solid as the song progressed. Christina declared Bryan winner of the Knockout.
Pharrell had Abby Celso with "Rich Girl" face off against Caity Peters with "Leave Your Lover." They were both entertaining in Pharrell's eyes, but he said Abby took control of the stage and gave a lot of vocal power while Caity's performance was spiritual and she really emoted. Pharrell said it was like Storm vs. Wonder Woman because they're so different. In the end, Pharrell opted to move forward in the competition with Caity.
Adam had Jessica Crosbie go up against Laith Al-Saadi for their Knockout. Jessica sang "Wake Me Up" and Laith performed "In Your Eyes." Adam seemed a little disappointed with both artists, saying that they cared more about accomplishing things vocally with their songs than they did about audience engagement and bringing the house down. Adam, however, couldn't ignore the potential to do "cool things" with Laith, so Laith won the Knockout.
Christina matched up Joe Maye, who sang "Earned It (50 Shades of Grey)" with Kata Hay, who sang "Why Haven't I Heard From You." Both brought showmanship to the table and knew how to dig into their gut. Christina said Joe had more work to do in the beginning but finished with an electrifying performance. Meanwhile, Kata always makes Christina smile with her stage presence and energy. In the end, Christina dubbed Kata the winner.
However, Blake decided to steal Joe because he'd bring diversity to his team with a little R&B.
