The Voice crowned Cassadee Pope its third-season winner during Tuesday night's live broadcast of the NBC reality singing competition's finale.

Pope, a 22-year-old singer from Los Angeles, CA, won after she had received the most home viewer votes following Monday night's final performance show, which had featured the three remaining finalists performing any song of their choice, an encore of their "ground-breaking moment" on the show this season, and an additional duet with his or her own musician coach.

"I don't know [what to say]! I'm feeling amazing. Thank you to everyone who voted for me, and all the fans, and [Blake Shelton], and the producers, wardrobe, hair and makeup, [Carson Daly], the band, [Christina Aguilera], everybody! I'm all alone [without my band]. Oh my God!" a teary-eyed Pope exclaimed after Daly, the host of The Voice, had announced her victory.

Shortly before Daly revealed her fate, Pope said winning the competition would mean so much to her because it would prove she could be a successful solo artist and not just the face of a band.

"It means a lot. I was nervous to step out on my own, and this experience made me feel like I could do it. And all you guys down there, all four of you [coaches], made me feel so good and made me believe in myself, so thank you," she said.

In addition to claiming the title of "The Voice," Pope walked away with a recording contract.

Terry McDermott, a 35-year-old singer from Aberdeen, Scotland, finished as the runner-up.

"I think [winning] would mean that I can bring some happiness to my wife, my family, my dad -- who's here, and Kim. It would be a really happy Christmas this year. I love you guys," said a grateful McDermott prior to learning the results.

Pope also beat out Nicholas David, a 31-year-old singer from Egan, MN, who ended up finishing in third place. Before he learned his finish in the competition, David shared with everyone some uplifting words his deceased grandfather had once told him.

"[He would] encourage us to follow our dreams not only in word and thought and in dream and dream but in dream and reality -- and to walk with your dream and to be your dream and to live your dream and to fulfill your dream," David said.

Daly did not disclose any results of the home viewer votes. Last season, he had at least revealed the percentage points separating the finalists.

Pope and McDermott were both mentored by Shelton, while David was on coach Cee Lo Green's team. Aguilera and fellow coach Adam Levine had no team members in the finale because their finalists had been wiped out entirely in recent weeks.
