Jake, a 31-year-old from Cookeville, TN, who sang on behalf of The Voice coach Kelly Clarkson's team all season long, was declared the winner of The Voice's seventeenth season during the live two-hour finale broadcast on NBC.

Jake's big win was determined by home-viewer votes that had poured in following Monday night's Top 4 performance show in which each finalist took the stage three times with a cover, a holiday duet with his or her coach, and a brand-new original single.

Jake, a one-chair turn in the Blind Auditions, expressed how grateful he was to Kelly for his experience on The Voice before host Carson Daly announced the final results.

"I can't thank you enough for believing in me from the get-go, for giving me every opportunity along the way," Jake said.

"I love you... Not only have I grown as an artist and as a person, but your love for your kids made me a better parent. So thank you so much."

This season marked Kelly's third victory as a coach out of her four seasons on The Voice.

Ricky Duran, a 29-year-old Massachusetts native currently living in Austin, TX, finished in second place. He represented Blake Shelton's team this season.

Katie Kadan, a 38-year-old from Chicago, IL, from John Legend's team, claimed third place.

And Rose Short, a 34-year-old from Killeen, TX, who was a member of Gwen Stefani's team, placed fourth.

For the first time in seven seasons, each of the four The Voice coaches had an artist in the finale.

Kelly pointed out prior to Jake's win this season of The Voice arguably had the "most talented group of singers" ever and the competition had been especially fierce.

Jake, however, performed consistently well throughout the season and frequently landed in the top spot on iTunes' Singles chart.

On Monday night, Jake impressed with his cover performance of "Amazed" by Lonestar and his holiday duet with Kelly, but he truly shined when debuting his original single, "Better Off Without You." Jake co-wrote the song, which the country singer penned when going through a painful divorce.

John, however, predicted on Monday night Ricky would end up with the most-streamed original song because the tune, "A Woman Like Her," was "magical" and "gorgeous."

Prior to the announcement of Jake's victory, the following artists performed on the show: former The Voice coach Jennifer Hudson, former American Idol finalist Adam Lambert, last season's The Voice winner Maelyn Jarmon, Little Big Town, Dua Lipa, Lady Antebellum, Black Eyed Peas, Luke Combs, Gary Clark Jr., and Yolanda Adams.
