The Voice eliminated two quarterfinalists during Monday night's performance show, which featured the four remaining members of "Team Christina" and "Team Blake" each performing for home viewer votes.

Jordis Unga, a singer and former Rock Star: INXS contestant from Ridgeland, MN, and Jesse Campbell, a singer from Chicago, IL, were eliminated by The Voice coaches Blake Shelton and Christina Aguilera respectively after host Carson Daly announced a special "instant elimination" twist in which Shelton and Aguilera were each required to cut one member of their team after all four of their remaining singers had performed.
Daly asked Aguilera to reveal which quarterfinalist on her team she wanted to send home first.
"I've definitely seen growth in all of you. I've seen more growth in some of you than others. I try, as a coach, to push myself -- not only myself, but all of you -- to step out of your comfort zones and push your own boundaries and try new things. I've seen all of you, to a certain point do it, again, some of you more than others. Some of you are more open to, I think, advice, and I think all of you, I've been so blessed and honored to have you on my team," Aguilera explained.
"I have to go with my gut though... I've spent a lot of time thinking about it. I'm going to maybe make enemies no matter who I choose to go home. You guys have fans, each and every one of you out there at this point, and you put your staple on music. So I'm excited to see where all of you go from here. I have to go with my gut and go with the team from here on out that I feel has versatility and that I want to keep seeing grow in this competition. Right here, at this point, I'm sorry but I have to let go Jesse."

Campbell was surprised about his ouster from The Voice's second season but graciously accepted his fate.
"Listen, I am so honored and just grateful for this opportunity. This is literally a dream that doesn't end right here. How I relate to myself in this process becomes a process and I'm grateful. Thank you guys," Campbell said following his elimination.
Shelton then had to reveal whom he wanted to eliminate from his team in the competition moving forward.
"Well, I was really hoping for somebody to come out here and not do a good job or at least three of you excel beyond the other, and it just didn't happen tonight. And so, I just feel like I'm in a position to -- I'm going to revert back to where we were two weeks ago. I'm going to have to eliminate Jordis and go with America's vote that happened a couple of weeks ago," Shelton explained, referencing how Unga had been in danger of elimination two weeks prior based on voting results but he had opted to save her.
Unga immediately looked down at the floor and burst into tears but attempted to maintain a smile.

"I'm sad. I'm sad but I understand. I'm proud of what I've done here," Unga said.
Aguilera's team will now consist of Ashley De La Rosa, a singer from Orlando, FL; Chris Mann, a singer from Wichita, KS; and Lindsey Pavao, a singer from Macteca, CA, going forward. Shelton's three remaining team members are Erin Willett, a singer from Gaithersburg, MD; RaeLynn, a singer from Baytown, TX; and Jermaine Paul, a singer from Harriman, NY.
Tonight's live results show broadcast of The Voice's second season will feature America saving one artist on both Aguilera and Shelton's teams, and then the remaining team members will take to the stage and sing a "survival" song in the hopes they could impress their coach one last time and be saved in the competition.
After the "sing to be saved" portion of the episode, Shelton and Aguilera will then each have to eliminate one member on their team.
