The Voice musician coaches Shakira and Adam Levine have each whittled down their fourth-season teams from eight to four acts with half of the season's "knockout" round now over. Tonight's The Voice broadcast will pick up where last night's episode left off, with fellow coaches Usher and Blake Shelton also reducing their teams via four separate faceoffs per team in the conclusion of the "knockout" round.
For the "knockout" round, each artist on every team performs individually against one of his or her own teammates one at a time. The contestants, who are able to select their own songs to perform, are surprised at the last minute by whom their coach chooses to put them up against.
Adam chose to pit Amber Carrington, who sang "I'm With You" by Avril Lavigne, against Midas Whale, a duo who performed "Higher Ground" by Stevie Wonder. Amber from Rockwall, TX came out ontop.
Adam put Warren Stone's rendition of "(I Just) Died in Your Arms" by Cutting Crew against Sarah Simmons' "Wild Horses" performance, and Sarah from Memphis, TN won. "Wild Horses" is by the Rolling Stones.

Shakira chose to pit Garrett Gardner, who sang "Too Close" by Alex Care, against Tawnya Reynolds, who performed "Hell on Heels" by Pistol Annies. Garrett from Ringwood, NJ came out ontop.
Shakira put Mary Miranda's rendition of "Every Breath You Take" by The Police against Kris Thomas' "What a Wonderful World" performance, and Kris from Memphis, TN won. "What a Wonderful World" is by Louis Armstrong.
Also for "Team Shakira," Sasha Allen sang against Shawna P. After Sasha sang "At Last" by Etta James and Shawna performed "Maybe I'm Amazed" by Paul McCartney, Shakira decided to advance Sasha from New York, NY.

Shakira also had Karina Iglesias perform against Monique Abbadie, and the coach picked Karina from Miami, FL. Karina sang "Are You Gonna Go My Way" by Lenny Kravitz, and Monique performed "The Power of Love" by Celine Dion.
Orlando and Caroline had been stolen by Adam for his team during previous "battle" rounds, while Sasha and Karina had been the artists stolen by Shakira.
Once the "knockout" round ends tonight, next week will begin the live "Playoffs" in which the Top 16 artists will perform live for home viewer votes.
