NBC has confirmed Taylor Swift will serve as the new key advisor for The Voice's currently-airing seventh season.

Swift, a seven-time Grammy Award winner, will be replacing last season's universal mentor Chris Martin, who is Coldplay's frontman, for the upcoming "Knockout Rounds."

Swift will work closely with each artist from all four coaches' teams as the sole mentor. She will advise the contestants during The Voice's October 27, 28 and November 3 broadcasts on their vocal technique, stage presence and the importance of tailoring songs to fit their strengths and personalities.

The Voice coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, and Pharrell Williams will be forced to decide which person in each knockout performance will advance to the live "Playoff Round." Each coach will have the opportunity to strategically steal one artist in the "Knockout Round" for his or her team.

Last season, the "Knockout Round" was instead dubbed "Battles: Round Two" following three prior seasons of knockout rounds.

Before the "Knockout Round" commences, each team will endure the "Battle Round" and be advised by someone different in addition to their coach. Levine will be working with Stevie Nicks, Shelton will team up with Little Big Town, Williams will be working with Alicia Keys, and Stefani has recruited her own husband Gavin Rossdale for the job.

Swift's fifth album "1989" is scheduled to be released October 27. The album will feature her No. 1 single "Shake It Off."

The Voice was created by John de Mol and is executive produced by Mark Burnett, Audrey Morrissey, Marc Jansen and Lee Metzger.
