Before Sofronio's victory was announced, Michael told his artist, "You are the hope of so many people, not just in the Philippines, but Asians everywhere. [They] truly are looking at you tonight and I'm so proud."
"You represent them so well," Michael added, "and it has been an unbelievable journey to be here with you."
Sofronio shared how Michael's mentorship has been "a blessing" to his entire family and all the dreamers out there, and he thanked his coach for opening doors "for everyone."
Shye, an 18-year-old from Bethlehem, PA, finished the competition in second place.
Before the voting results were revealed, Michael told Shye, "No matter what happens, these are just one of the many words that you and I are going to share going into a future together where I watch you make beautiful music for people to hear."
Michael told Shye that the world needs her, and he explained, "You are something so special, and I couldn't be happier for you."
Shye gushed about how Michael has been her teacher, friend and colleague on this show.
"You're so talented and funny," Shye added. "You have so much to offer, even though I look at you crazy sometimes when you say something weird. I just love you so much and you're the best coach ever."
Fellow The Voice 26 coaches Reba McEntire, Gwen Stefani, and Snoop Dogg each had a finalist competing in the finale.
"Team Gwen" member Sydney Sterlace from Buffalo, NY, finished in third place.
"Team Reba" member Danny Joseph from London, England, placed fourth.
