The Voice eliminated quarterfinalists RaeLynn and Ashley De La Rosa and determined four of its second-season semifinalists during Tuesday night's broadcast of the NBC singing competition.

RaeLynn, a singer from Baytown, TX, and Ashley De La Rosa, a singer from Orlando, FL, were eliminated by The Voice coaches Blake Shelton and Christina Aguilera respectively after they were each required to perform a new "last chance" song in the hopes their coach would save them in the competition.

During the "sing to be saved" portion of last night's The Voice broadcast, RaeLynn was beaten out by fellow "Team Blake" member Erin Willett, a singer from Gaithersburg, MD, after she performed "If I Die Young" by The Band Perry. Willett sang a rendition of Tina Turner's "Proud Mary."

"Even as I sit here, I don't know. It's weird because I love both of you and we have a bond for different reasons. Gosh dang, man. This is way rougher than I thought it was going to be, you know? I don't know if a lot of people -- they may not realize these saves -- how these performances come down," Shelton explained once it became time for him to make his decision between the two artists.

"As a coach, we don't know what song that's going to be on the saves. And I think you're right, [Adam Levine] on RaeLynn's song. I wish there would have been something different, and Erin came out here and the thing that Erin did is what Erin does. I'm saving Erin."

After singing again for the coaches, De La Rosa lost to fellow "Team Christina" member Lindsey Pavao, a singer from Macteca, CA. De La Rosa performed "You and I" by Lady GaGa, while Pavao sang a version of Mike Posner's "Please Don't Go."

"Lindsey, your performance did make me cry. I was really touched because I think I do have a special connection with your voice. It was very vulnerable and I think that can be very powerful. Ashley, you are a dynamo onstage," Aguilera explained in tears.

"You've come so far, so far, and you both are complete superstars. You both could record an album right now and blow up. I hate this right now. I really do, sincerely. But as always, I have to go with what's in my heart, and I'm going to go with Lindsey."

"I just want to say thank you to the show for giving me the opportunity, and thank you to my coach Christina. You believed in me when I didn't even believe in myself," De La Rosa said following her ouster.

In addition to Willett and Pavao, Chris Mann, a singer from Wichita, KS, and Jermaine Paul, a singer from Harriman, NY, also advanced to the competition's semifinalist round.

Mann -- who is one of the two remaining members on Aguilera's team -- and Paul, who is the other remaining singer on Shelton's team, automatically advanced and did not have to perform a survival song after The Voice host Carson Daly revealed they had received the most home viewer votes of anyone on their team following Monday night's performance show.

During The Voice's next episode on Monday, April 23 at 8PM ET/PT, the show will feature the team members of coaches Adam Levine and Cee Lo Green taking to the stage and performing. Levine and Green will then participate in the same "instant elimination" twist this Monday's episode featured and each cut one member of their four-person team.
