Mendeleyev, a 28-year-old from Santa Barbara, CA, sang "Girl From the North Country" for his Blind Audition and persuaded all four coaches to turn around for him.
Kelly said his voice sounded like "the best glass of pino noir ever" and she felt like a warm blanket had been wrapped around her.

Kelly said while the coaches typically get excited about big ranges and high notes, his low, smooth tone was "incredible" and "beautiful." Kelly added that his voice has so many stories to tell and so many lives. She simply called him "special."
Gwen said Mendeleyev connected with the audience and they'd make a great team because she's creative.
John loved the artist's unique and artistic performance. He said it was "a really powerful moment" and his fireworks are when he hits low notes. John said the story was wrapped in his voice and he'd love to be his coach.
Blake explained Mendeleyev brings life to blue grass and folk music and he's got a gift that needs to be shared.
Mendeleyev and his deep baritone voice clearly had a tough decision to make, but after John could relate to his musical influence and said he knows who Richie Havens is, the artist decided to join John's team.

Marybeth, an 18-year-old from Armorel, AR, performed "Angel From Montgomery."
All four coaches were inspired by Marybeth and pressed their buttons, however, Blake was blocked by Kelly, who wanted the artist really badly.

John said Marybeth has a strong, clear tone and her transitions were "seamless." He explained the performance was both exciting to listen to and watch.
"I have a good feeling you're going to be one of the top contestants this season," John expressed.

Since Blake was blocked, he told Marybeth to picked Gwen.
Gwen then told Marybeth that she's a vessel for emotion and she has a cute softness but also rasp in her voice. Gwen insisted she cares about storytelling in music and she'd love to work with her.
While Kelly was pitching her case, Gwen's No Doubt music "Don't Speak" hilariously started playing in the background.
John told Marybeth she can sing pop, country and soul and they'd be able to do great things together.
With all that being said, Marybeth went with her gut and selected John as her coach.

Calvin, a 25-year-old from Nashville, TN, who currently resides in North Carolina, performed "Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me)," and Blake, Gwen and John all pressed their buttons for him.
Gwen called Calvin's voice relaxing and said she'd love to listen to his voice on a record. She thought they'd be a great match, but she was intimidated by John.
John said Calvin's version of the song was so subtle and in control. John also could tell his tone is unlike anyone else's tone, and he added that it was "a masterful performance."
"I guarantee you that you can go on to be a star and make a hit album. I would love to be your coach, but I am just happy for you, man," Blake noted.
Kelly told Calvin he's super talented, incredibly handsome and God chose to hand him everything.

But before Calvin made his decision, Gwen gushed about how passionate she was about him and finding ways for him to touch people all over the world with his sound. She said she'd fight for him and he didn't have to be put into a box as one specific type of artist.
Calvin opted to join "Team Gwen," and she was blown away by his decision. Gwen ran around the stage in excitement and even dropped to her knees, and John admitted he was jealous.
Kiara Brown, a 21-year-old from Las Vegas, NV, impressed with her performance of "Free Fallin'" and both Blake and Gwen pressed their buttons at the last second.
Blake gushed about how Kiara was "hypnotic" and has so much potential, and he said he'd stop at nothing to get her on his team. And Gwen said she loved the singer and songwriter side of her.
Kiara chose Gwen, who joked "the gloves are off," when it comes to trying to beat Blake this season.

Melinda Rodriguez, a 23-year-old from Miami, FL, performed "What A Wonderful World," and Kelly and Gwen turned their chairs around in no time.
Both women were excited about Melinda's creative and relaxed voice. Gwen opted to help her with stage presence, but Kelly suggested they should try her classic sound with contemporary songs.
Melinda ended up choosing Kelly as her coach.
Jake Hoot, a 30-year-old from Cookeville, TN, took the stage with "When It Rains It Pours" and Kelly was the only coach to turn for him after she begged Blake not to steal the country singer away from her. Kelly compared Jake's sound to Ronnie Dunn.

Josie Jones, a 16-year-old from Hamilton, AL, performed "Men & Mascara" as a young country artist. Both Blake and John turned their chairs around for the vocalist, but she picked Blake.
The episode ended on a cliffhanger, with Cali Wilson, a 28-year-old from Salem, IA, singing "Dreams" for a spot on The Voice.
John, Blake and Gwen all turned their chairs around. John appreciated the low notes in her performance, and Gwen was moved and lost in her heart. Blake tried to relate to where Cali is from, but Kelly joked around that he was drunk.
Fans will find out which team Cali chose on Tuesday night's show on NBC.
In addition, three artists got cut from the competition and unfortunately didn't make a team: Johnny Sanchez, a 30-year-old from Hollister, CA; Tamika J, a 34-year-old from Miami, FL; and Jon Rizzo, a 34-year-old from Oceanside, NY.
