The Voice featured the Top 8 semifinalists for Season 17 taking the stage and bringing their A-game, with Rose Short bringing a speechless Gwen Stefani to tears during Monday night's two-hour broadcast on NBC.

The Top 8 semifinalists each took the stage twice during Monday night's performance show for The Voice coaches Gwen, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Blake Shelton in the hope of earning enough home-viewer votes to secure one of only four spots in next week's finale.

Each semifinalist sang an individual song as well as a duet with another contestant to an iconic song from the 1980s.

Katie Kadan, a 38-year-old from Chicago, IL, kicked things off with a performance of "Lady Marmalade" by LaBelle.

Katie received a standing ovation from all four coaches. Kelly said she loves watching Katie perform and her voice captivates people in a way many artists are incapable of doing.

Gwen called "Lady Marmalade" her favorite performance of Katie's so far, adding that Katie is an artist whom people easily recognize because of her style, personality and the way she can work and command a room and people's attention.

John insisted Katie makes every song her own and she's simply "magnificent."

"She's a superstar. We are fortunate that she's even on our show," John said.

"We don't deserve you, Katie. You own every performance, and you do it so professionally... You already deserve awards. You deserve more than The Voice. You deserve Grammys and all that, and you are just a fantastic performer."

Kat Hammock, an 18-year-old from Encinitas, CA, performed "Somewhere Only We Know" by Keane.

Blake, Kelly and Gwen all stood up for Kat, and Kelly said Kat's gift is very special because it touches people and makes listeners hang on her every breath. Kelly complimented her on doing a "fantastic" job.

Gwen told Kat to understand how gifted she is, especially because she's so unique. Gwen insisted she can have a whole career after The Voice.

Blake said Kat had her "most powerful vocal performance" of the show so far and her voice is "pure and innocent." Blake acknowledged her voice can break hearts and make people happy at the same time, and he insisted she needs to make records and he's going to help her do that.

Marybeth Byrd, an 18-year-old from Armorel, AR, belted out "Before He Cheats" by Carrie Underwood, and she received a standing ovation from all the coaches.

Blake admitted that must have been a tough vocal to tackle and she had done a great job on it. Blake said Marybeth can do all different genres and make them work, and he was glad to see her get back to country.

John gushed about how he almost didn't recognize Marybeth because she got into the character so well and was almost a new Marybeth on the stage. John told home viewers they had lit a fire underneath her by voting her into the bottom three last week and she deserves to be in the finale.

Hello Sunday, a duo comprised of Myla Finks, a 14-year-old from Atlanta, GA, and Chelsea Glover, a 13-year-old from Atlanta, GA, took the stage with "Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing" by Stevie Wonder.

The girls got all coaches on their feet, and Gwen was signaling that the duo had blown her mind.

John could tell the girls push each other to be great and do so many "inventive things together." John liked the competitive element to their relationship, saying it just makes them better and work harder.

Kelly yelled about how Hello Sunday was "killing it" and they really brought their A-game to the stage. Kelly said they chose the perfect song at the perfect time and they had nailed their vocals.

Ricky Duran, a 29-year-old from Austin, TX, sang "Let It Be" by The Beatles and also received a standing ovation for his performance.

Blake said Ricky "just gave the vocal performance of your life -- no question" about it. Blake suggested Ricky had given the stage every last ounce of gas he had in his tank.

Will Breman, a 25-year-old from Santa Barbara, CA, performed "Locked Out Of Heaven" by Bruno Mars. The coaches applauded him wildly on their feet, and The Voice host Carson Daly called it "a classic Will performance" because it was totally unpredictable.

John said Will continues to impress him week after week because his stage presence is "electric and magnetic."

John added Will's voice is "so strong" and there's so much music in him. John gushed about how fun it is to watch Will on the stage and viewers should be excited to see what he does in the finale.

Rose Short, a 34-year-old from Killeen, TX, performed "I Want To Know What Love Is" by Foreigner.

After earning a standing ovation from the coaches, the cameras flashed to Gwen, who was bawling.

"That was unbelievable. I am so in awe of you. I am so honored to work with you," Gwen said crying. "I can't talk! Cut the cameras!"

Kelly was on the verge of tears as well, and she explained that Rose is a gift and had moved everyone in the room.

"I don't care what happens on this show. You are so blessed! That was so good," Kelly yelled.

And for the final performance of the night, Jake Hoot, a 31-year-old from Cookeville, TN, sang "Desperado" by the Eagles.

John told Jake he's consistently excellent every week and his voice just feels like home because it's so comfortable and relaxing. He also said his high notes are excellent and pitch perfect.

Kelly, who was so excited for the artist, said there must be a microphone in his voice because of the way he naturally projects. Kelly could tell the song mattered to Jake because of its story and message, and she felt "so lucky" to have him on her team.

As for the duets, Ricky and Will sang "Your Love" by The Outfield together, Jake and Marybeth performed "Up Where We Belong" by Joe Cocker, Katie and Rose belted out "Express Yourself" by Madonna, and Hello Sunday and Kat took the stage with "We Belong" by Pat Benatar.

Tuesday night's live results show on NBC will reveal the four finalists competing in The Voice's seventeenth-season finale next week.
