The Voice determined its remaining 10 fifth-season artists who will advance as finalists to the live shows during Tuesday night's broadcast of the NBC reality singing competition.

The Voice coaches Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green, and Blake Shelton each picked two "knockout" round winners on their team, and Aguilera and Levine each gained another artist through the show's new single "steal" format.
Preston Pohl from Houston, TX and St. Augustine, FL; James Wolpert from Strasberg, PA and Pittsburgh, PA; Ray Boudreaux from Lafayette, LA; Austin Jenckes from Duvall, WA; Tamara Chauniece from Wharton, TX; Caroline Pennell from Saddle River, NJ; Jacquie Lee from Colts Neck, NJ; and Matthew Schuler from Yardley, PA, were declared the winners of their "knockout" rounds.
For the "knockout" round, each artist on every team performed a song individually but was directly compared to one of his or her own teammates, who sang a different song almost immediately afterwards. The contestants, who were able to select their own songs to perform, only learned the opponent their coach opted to paired them against at the last minute.
Pohl and Wolpert represented "Team Adam," Boudreaux and Jenckes were on "Team Blake," Chauniece and Pennell sang on behalf of "Team Cee Lo," and Lee and Schuler represented "Team Christina."

Pohl knocked out fellow contestant Lina Gaudenzi, Wolpert beat Juhi, Boudreaux defeated E.G. Daily, Jenckes conquered Brandon Chase, Chauniece outperformed Stephanie Anne Johnson, Pennell beat out George Horga Jr., Lee knocked out Anthony Paul, and Schuler defeated Will Champlin.
However, although Johnson from Tacoma, WA, and Champlin from Woodland Hills, CA, lost their respective "knockout" round faceoff, Aguilera chose to "steal" Johnson from Green's team and Levine decided to "steal" Champlin from "Team Christina."
In the season's new twist, each coach is allowed one "steal" during the "knockout" round, mimicking the "steal" feature which was utilized in the "battle" rounds. If an artist loses a faceoff, the three other coaches have an opportunity to save him or her in the competition and add the contestant to their team going into the live shows.
For "Team Adam," Pohl sang "No Woman, No Cry" by Bob Marley and The Wailers against Gaudenzi, who performed "I'd Rather Go Blind" by Etta James. Wolpert sang "More Than a Feeling" by Boston against Juhi's rendition of "I Heard it Through the Grapevine" by Marvin Gaye.
For "Team Blake," Boudreaux performed "Hard to Handle" by Otis Redding against Daily's "I Can't Make You Love Me" by Bonnie Raitt. Jenckes took the stage with "I'll Be" by Edwin McCain, performing against Chase's "Even if it Breaks Your Heart" by Eli Young Band.

On behalf of "Team Cee Lo," Chauniece sang "No One" by Alicia Keys against Johnson's version of "Don't Know Why" by Nora Jones. Pennell performed "The Way I Am" by Ingrid Michaelson against Horga Jr.'s "Because of You" by Ne-Yo.
Representing "Team Christina," Lee performed "Stompa" by Serena Ryder against Paul's performance of "The Other Side" by Jason Derulo. Champlin took the stage with "When I was Your Man" by Bruno Mars against Schuler's rendition of "Cosmic Love" by Florence and The Machine.
Now that The Voice's "knockout" round has concluded, 20 artists will go on to perform in the live shows -- 16 original "knockout" round winners and four stolen contestants. Each team will feature five artists.
