Brooks, 54, will be the first key adviser the franchise has utilized for the uber-important live shows. He will motivate, inspire and guide the contestants along with the show's coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Alicia Keys and Miley Cyrus.
Key advisers before him --like Faith Hill and Tim McGraw this season -- worked with artists throughout the "The Knockout Round." Cyrus, singer Taylor Swift, Fun frontman Nate Ruess, and Coldplay's Chris Martin also held down the key-adviser role in previous seasons for the Knockouts.
Brooks made history with his fifth CMA Entertainer of the Year Award win this year. Brooks' seven studio albums have each sold more than 10 million copies, and he remains the No.1-selling solo artist in U.S. history.
"Christmas Together," Brooks' first-ever duet album with Trisha Yearwood, is out on November 11. His next studio album, "Gunslinger," will be released November 25.
The Top 12 artists who will be competing in next week's live show are Team Alicia's Christian Cuevas, We McDonald and Sa'Rayah; Team Miley's Ali Caldwell, Aaron Gibson and Darby Walker; Team Adam's Billy Gilman, Josh Gallagher and Brendan Fletcher; and Team Blake's Sundance Head, Austin Allsup and Courtney Harrell.
