The X Factor auditioner Geo Godley says he was not naked during his performance on Wednesday night's premiere of the new Simon Cowell reality competition, so he can't be considered indecent.

"We always dance in g-strings," Godley told TMZ in response to a complaint the Parents Television Council filed with the Federal Communications Commission labeling his public behavior obscene and "patently offensive."
"G-strings are legal. The PTC have no complaint to make," Godley said, adding that his attire was similar to what would be seen at the beach.
Although he defended his nearly nude performance, Godley suggested he may have taken things a little too far.
"I apologize to anyone that was exposed to my behind... I had no intention of showing it and it was an accident when I fell. I was caught up in the moment," the singer said.
While there was a live audience who watched Godley perform during the show's taping, viewers from home only saw a large red and black "X" covering his privates during the broadcast.
The show's editing had suggested Godley was naked from the waist down based on the audience's and panel's reactions. Some individuals left the building, while The X Factor judge Paula Abdul ran to the bathroom and allegedly got sick and fellow judge L.A. Reid told Godley the incident was "offensive, disgusting, distasteful, and upsetting."
