Tila Tequila was warned not to take the stage at the Insane Clown Posse music festival she was attacked at last weekend, according to organizers.

"Although what happened to Tila Tequila at the 11th annual Gathering of the Juggalos is extremely unfortunate, Juggalo Gathering LLC and Insane Clown Posse are not responsible," the festival's Juggalo Gathering LLC organization said in a statement released by the hip-hop duo's Psychopathic Records record label on Wednesday.

"Ms. Tequila was made aware, in advance, of her unpopularity with many Juggalos at the Gathering, but she insisted on performing. She was even paid in full before her performance, and was told that she did not have to perform, but if she did decide to perform, she could leave the stage the minute that she felt uncomfortable. Gathering's head of security told her that it was unsafe to go on stage, and recommended that she leave the Gathering grounds."

Tequila was pelted with rocks, bottles, sex toys, human waste, and other objects when she performed at the four-day festival -- which has a history of rowdy crowd behavior that has kept other performers away -- on Saturday, resulting in facial cuts which required stitches and bruises all over her body, according to the singer, model and former A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila star.

"I went onstage and immediately, before I even got on stage, DUDES were throwing HUGE STONE ROCKS in my face, beer bottles that slit my eye open, almost burnt my hair on fire cuz they threw fire crackers on stage, and they even took the sh-t out of the port-0-potty and threw sh-t and piss at me when I was onstage," she told TMZ afterwards.  "These people were trying to kill me."

Tequila eventually left the stage but a portion of the crowd then followed to her trailer, where she claimed "two thousand people" surrounded her and broke the trailer's windows as she and several security personnel struggled to keep them from entering.

After filing a complaint with the local police in the Illinois town where the festival was held, Tequila then took to Twitter and announced plans to sue its organizers.

"The people at Juggalos behavior was disgusting and I am filing a suit against Them now," she wrote.  "Pretty soon the owners who run the Juggalos will be bankrupt. My attorney Alan is already on it."

However the organizers claim Tequila was told not to perform and that she would still be paid in full if she didn't.

"Despite warnings and already being paid without being required to perform, Ms. Tequila made the decision to go onto the stage and perform. As soon as her show started, the crowd began to boo heavily and throw garbage. It was immediately obvious that she was not welcome," they said in the statement.

In addition, they claim that Tequila is the one responsible for her injuries and exacerbated the situation when she taunted the crowd by pulling her top off and exposing her breasts.

"Her injuries were only sustained because of her refusal to leave the stage," the statement alleges.  "After several minutes, she even removed her top, exposing herself, which seemed to mock and further antagonize the crowd. Finally, Gathering security pulled her off of the stage. Soon after, she was escorted to her car, and was driven safely off of the Gathering grounds."

Tequila lashed out at the statement via Twitter after its release on Wednesday.

"If your face was drippin in blood, and your shirt was smeared in human feces and piss, umm im pretty sure you would take ur dam top off too! " she wrote.  "I had human SH-T ALL OVER MY TOP hanging on there next to my open wounds! Plus the piss! It was disgusting! So I fucking took that sh-t off!"

On Wednesday, TMZ also reported that Method Man plans to sue the festival for facial cuts he suffered when he was pelted with objects while performing on Sunday.

Both Insane Clown Posse members had reportedly asked festival attendees to tone down their behavior during a public forum on Friday.

"You wouldn't believe how many people refuse to come play the Gathering," Violent J told attendees, according to The Village Voice.

"And when we see somebody who actually agreed, and who was actually looking forward to it, get bombed onstage? That sh-t hurts, man, because we feel bad for them, you know. And we just want you to know, we're going to have equally as much love from us no matter what you decide to do, but we wish you wouldn't throw the sh-t, man. I'm keeping it real."

The attendees had reportedly applauded the comments.
