The Fox network has been relentlessly using American Idol to plug its new reality show Mr. Personality. Now another cross-promotion is planned, with a little more appeal than Monica Lewinsky.

The BBC reports that Idol judge Simon Cowell will guest-star in an upcoming episode of Fox's animated series The Simpsons. Simon will play the nasty nursery school admissions director to whom the SImpsons must turn in their effort to place their baby daughter. The show promises to have Simon abuse the toddlers as much as he abuses the Idol contestants.

A spokesman for The Simpsons refers to Simon as a "fun villain." Frankly, we have thought most admissions directors were villains, but we can't remember meeting any fun ones.
