TLC has announced it has ordered Cake Boss, a new Ace of Cakes-like reality series.

TLC will premiere Cake Boss with a special broadcast on Sunday, April 19. After the special, Cake Boss will premiere as a regular series sometime in early June.
"I was born into this business and practically have icing in my blood. Though my big family can sometimes drive me crazy, we are all working hard to make my father's dream come true," said Valastro. "My passion is uniting old-world recipes with modern techniques, and I can't wait to share what we're doing with TLC's audience."
Valastro may be a familiar face to food aficionados. In addition to competing in several Food Network competitions, his cakes have also been featured on The Today Show, Good Morning America, The View, and The Sopranos as well as numerous bridal and baking magazines.
