Apparently in the world of Los Angeles glitterati, nothing says "I care" like an open letter on the Internet.
That's how Candy Spelling, the mother of "Tori & Dean: Inn Love" star Tori Spelling, chose to let "The Simple Life" star Paris Hilton know she doesn't approve of how she's been behaving, the New York Post reported.
Hilton, she wrote, "can get away with more bad behavior and excuses than most people could even imagine."
"Paris, I'm very worried about you," Spelling wrote on celebrity Web site TMZ.com. "As the real possibility of jail approaches -- whether it's 21 days or 45 days or whatever the latest report is -- it's time to get real."
Spelling added that it's time for the reality television celebrity, who faces jail time for driving infractions, to find a balance between "'heiress' and a character on 'The Simple Life.'"
Spelling also chided Hilton for practicing self-defense skills in preparation for time behind bars.
As for herself, Spelling has feuded with her daughter over money after last year's death of Tori's father, television producer Aaron Spelling.
