Fans couldn't miss Valerie on Night 1 of The Bachelor, because not only was she rocking a dark red hair color unlike most of her competition, but she was also sporting a bright yellow floor-length dress.
Arie probably found Valerie's personality to be just as colorful as her appearance, because he decided to give her a rose at the season's first official Rose Ceremony when he had to narrow 29 bachelorettes down to only 21.
Eight women went home, but Valerie lived to see at least the first week of dates.
