Vanessa Nelson and Tres Russell appeared on Season 3 of Married at First Sight.
They decided to continue working on their marriage at the end of the experiment, but by the time the reunion special aired about six months later, they had separated.
Vanessa and Tres ultimately got a divorce.
Vanessa went on to star on Married at First Sight: Second Chances and got engaged at the end of the show to Andre Forbes.
She announced their split, however, in August 2017.
In April 2020, Lifetime aired a Married at First Sight: Where Are They Now? special that provided updates on some of MAFS's former participants.
In an Where Are They Now? update video he recorded with fellow Season 3 participant Neil Bowlus, whom Tres has remained friends with, Tres said his current relationship status was "complicated."
"Hold on, let me check Facebook," Tres said before grabbing his mobile phone.
"It's complicated," he added after glancing at his phone.
