VH1 has announced it has ordered The Tournament, a new reality dating series that will follow the NFL star as he attempts to find love.
The Torunament will begin with Ochocinco traveling across the country to select his first 85 bachelorettes before narrowing the field down to his "sweet sixteen" -- four women each from the northern, western, southern and central regions of the country -- during the first episode.
The actual competition for Ochocinco's heart will then begin and follow a bracket-type format as the bachelorettes will have an opportunity to vie for his affection on double-date face-offs. The winner of each double-date face-off will move to the next round of the tournament, while the loser is eliminated.
The 16 bachelorettes will subsequently be narrowed to two, who will compete on a "championship date" that will conclude with Ochocinco awarding one of them a "Championship Ring."

"Chad Ochocinco is one of the most electrifying individuals in sports today. His bigger than life personality on and off the field and his notorious skills as a social networker, connecting daily with his fans, makes him a perfect fit for VH1," said VH1 programming executive Jeff Olde.
"This show will not only give viewers a look inside his professional life, but also reveal his softer more romantic side when playing a very different kind of game."
The Tournament is currently slated to debut in July.
Ochocinco -- a wide receiver with the NFL's Cincinatti Bengals who wears No. 85 -- will compete as a Dancing with the Stars tenth-season celebrity participant with professional partner Cheryl Burke, a two-time mirror ball trophy winner. The show's tenth season debuts March 22 on ABC.
The Tournament is being produced by JUMA Entertainment an 51 Minds Entertainment.
