VH1 has announced The OCD Project, a new reality series that will feature ordinary people suffering from severe forms of obsessive compulsive disorder, will premiere on Thursday, May 27 at 10PM ET/PT.

The OCD Project will follow six patients suffering from OCD as they live together for several weeks in a treatment facility and undergo both individual and group treatment.
Some of the obsessive thoughts plaguing the patients featured on the series include fears of killing a pedestrian every time they are behind the wheel of a car, causing a child to develop cancer, HIV contamination, morphing into a serial killer, and the ability to cause death or disaster through mind control.
The patients, who are all between 18 and 45-years-old, will participate in 21 days of an all-immersive therapy called Exposure and Response Prevention led by anxiety specialist Dr. David Tolin.
While VH1 teased that "not all will complete the program," the series will conclude with the patients learning that their various forms of severe OCD are manageable.

VH1 ordered the eight-episode series last June and it is being produced by 3 Ball Productions, with JD Roth serving as executive producer.
