There was a time in America when boy bands reigned supreme, ruled the airwaves and ruined life for men across the country.  Their popularity has since fizzled, but there's no doubt you've wondered what happened to some of the more popular prepubescent crooners.

Wonder no more, as VH1 has announced additional details about its new reality series, Untitled Boy Band Project, which will feature four former boy-banders creating a new group and trying to reclaim the fame from their glory days.  First announced in October under the title Man Band, the series will feature former N'Sync member Chris Kirkpatrick, 98 Degrees member Jeff Timmons, LFO member Rich Cronin and Color Me Badd member Bryan Abrams.  When it was originally announced, the series was supposed to feature five former boy band members, but we'll assume VH1 couldn't find any other takers.

Scheduled to premiere in late spring 2007, Untitled Boy Band Project will follow the four former well-coiffed crooners as they live together for one month and create new music, choreograph a dynamic stage show and perform as a new pop group. According to VH1, each member of the band finds himself at a different stage in his career -- some are confident, financially comfortable and just looking to make new music (thank God!), while others have been forced to (GASP!) take a day job. Along the way, viewers will be able to see if the former boy-band icons can let go of their dwindling, if not extinguished, pasts to move forward and catch the ears of a new audience.

Untitled Boy Band Project is produced by VH1 in conjunction with Tijuana Productions and Kandokid Productions. Jim Ackerman serves as executive producer for VH1. Christian McLaughlin serves as supervising producer for VH1. Troy Searer and John Foy serve as executive producers for Tijuana Productions. Jeff Kennedy and Tony Harding are executive producers along with producer Andrea Murphy for Kandokid Films.
