WE tv has announced Sex Box, an extreme relationship therapy show about having sexual intercourse, will be premiering Friday, February 27 at 10PM ET/PT.

Sex Box, which debuted in the U.K. in October 2013 and drew a ton of media attention, features couples on the rocks discussing their intimacy issues with a panel of experts and then entering a giant camera-free, soundproof box on the show's set to have sex in front of a live studio audience.

Once each couple enters the "sex box," the "sexperts" will discuss their initial observations, ranging from their thoughts on what might be happening inside the box to whether they believe a connection can be reignited and the relationship saved. Immediately upon exiting the "sex box," each couple will sit down for a heart-to-heart with the expert panelists to discuss their experiences and problems.

Sex Box will air as 11 one-hour episodes and feature the following experts: Dr. Fran Walfish, a leading Beverly Hills psychotherapist; Dr. Chris Donaghue, a licensed clinical nationally certified sex therapist; and Dr. Yvonne Capehart, pastor and couples' counselor. The panelists will also be joined by comedian and podcaster Danielle Stewart for commentary and on-the-street interviews.

"Post-coitus, a scientifically proven time when people are more trusting and open due to the body's natural release of oxytocin ('cuddle hormone'), the couples have a shockingly raw discussion with the experts about their experiences and relationships in an effort to solve their problems," according to the network, adding that the show is honest, provactive and educational.

Couples appearing on the show will include high school sweethearts whose passion has flamed out after 14 years of marriage and four kids; a couple whose trust issues from a previous relationship have a negative impact on their intimacy; an open relationship with one partner wanting to make their sex life even racier, including S&M; a married couple whose sex life has drastically decreased since having a baby; and a couple who actually engage in too much sex.

WE tv announced it had picked up Sex Box in late August 2014.

Sex Box is being produced by Relativity Television and ClearStory. Tom Forman, Brad Bishop, Marc Juris, Lauren Gellert, and Kate Farrell, Molly Milton, Russell Barnes, Andrew Scher and Mike Maloy are serving as executive producers.
