Whitney Port is denying co-star Kristen Cavallari's claims that "The Hills" was almost entirely fabricated, but did admit to being encouraged to be more dramatic.
In 2013, Cavallari told Splash magazine producers for "The Hills" and "Laguna Beach" "did everything short of handing us a script.
"I had two lives," the bad-girl character of the show said at the time. "My 'Hills' life and my real life...People are always surprised by how nice I am in real life."
Whitney Port was a main cast member of "The Hills" until she landed the spinoff series titled "The City."
She was never on the former show at the same time as Cavallari, who took over when Lauren Conrad left during "The Hills'" fifth season. In her memoir "Balancing In Heels," according to Celebrity Cafe, Cavallari insists producers manipulated her onscreen life, saying they "controlled and mapped our lives more than we were aware. It certainly provided some juicy conflicts, but it also affected me deeply."
