Whitney Sim and Shannon Sim are the only duo on The Voice's eleventh season, and fans are expecting big things from them.

While some might believe Whitney and Shannon had an advantage in the "Battle Round," others could argue they had more of a challenge to sing together as a unit against the sound of another person trying to outshine them.
When asked about their strategy for the Battle, Whitney told reporters during a recent conference call, "I think we're stronger together anyway. So I think going into the Battle we definitely, you know, we have to think about singing individually. But for the most part we like to stick together because that's our signature sound and that's what we do best."
Whitney therefore explained that they split up "as much as possible" but also try to do their own "thing together."
It was certainly an uphill battle for Gabriel when he was asked to sing "More Than Words" against a harmonizing duo of beautiful girls. And in the end, Alicia chose to advance Whitney and Shannon because of their originality, and she said they have an ability to radiate love onstage.
"I will say we did struggle a little bit because we didn't want to sound like back-up vocalists for Gabe," Shannon told reporters.
"We wanted to make sure that we stood out and so we had to work really hard on just kind of making sure that we had moments where we shined a little bit."
Shannon said the experience "definitely" caused some anxiety because Gabriel is clearly a talented artist.
"There were times we were nervous that we weren't going to be doing enough to win our Battle, but thankfully, I think Alicia was pleased with what we did. And we're happy that she put us through to the next round," Shannon elaborated.
The Voice's Season 11 "Knockout Round" begins Monday night at 8PM ET/PT on NBC.
