New Jersey police say a woman posed as an assistant to singer/actress Jessica Simpson and scammed a slew of expensive swag she planned on selling on eBay.

Police said the former public relations intern allegedly set up a phony e-mail account using the name of Simpson's assistant and wrote to top designers saying: "Jessica just loves your products."
Police found more than $12,000 worth of goods in Handel's East Rutherford, N.J., home Friday. She was charged with third-degree fraud by deception.
A security agent for Sony, Simpson's record label, uncovered the scam.
