Coven

Coven Information

}} Coven is a contemporary British supernatural feature film set in Queens Wood in the picturesque Historic village of Highgate, North London, United Kingdom. Apart from its beauty, the woods surround lime filled Plague Pitts, filled with thousands of dead from the Black Death in 1666, the date of which is extraordinary in itself as it contains the Satanic numbers: 666. A wild and truly beautiful listed Nature Reserve, Queens Wood also has an actual 'Coven'. A clearing within the woods and detailed on the map, mysteriously surrounded by thirteen very large Oak Trees. There are Pagan artefacts, 'Dancing Ladies' positioned high in the trees and Pagan activity still takes place on a regular basis. The Coven film crew reported that they were interrupted whilst filming by angry 'witches' who were upset that 'their' Coven had been invaded. With the film generator mysteriously breaking down killing all power and leaving crew stranded in the black of the night in the midst of the woods in the small hours, there was fear that the Witches had placed a curse upon them. With only the owls for company, a few crew members decided not to return to the shoot in fear of repercussions. The film recounts past true events and Pagan gatherings that occurred in Queens Wood and the fate of a group of teenagers who embark on a sleepover on Halloween. Starring the fabulously talented Dexter Fletcher as the History teacher who inspires his students with a lesson on Neo-Paganism and St Trinian's twin child stars Cloe and Holly Mackie who head up the unruly teens.
