Eric Paulsen Biography

Eric Arthur Paulsen is an anchorman for WWL-TV in New Orleans, Louisiana. He has been part of the news team since April 1977.

Paulsen was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and attended Southern Illinois University. It was there he began his broadcasting career, reporting, writing and anchoring for the student-run 5 o'clock newscast that aired on the local Public Broadcasting Service station.

Paulsen started WWL-TV's Morning News broadcast in the late 1970s. He later went on to host the local version of the nationally-syndicated show PM Magazine with Lea Sinclair between January 1980 and September 1984. Paulsen also conducted the last in-depth broadcast interview with Tennessee Williams.

Paulsen has co-anchored the Eyewitness Morning News since 1985, first with Andre Trevigne and then with Sally-Ann Roberts. He assumed anchoring WWL's "Twelve O'Clock News" upon the retirement of Bill Elder in February 2000.
