Gaten Matarazzo Biography

Gaten Matarazzo (born September 8, 2002) is an American actor who started out on the Broadway stage in 2011 as Benji in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert and in 2014 played Gavroche in Les Misrables. He is best known for his portrayal of Dustin Henderson in the 2016 Netflix series Stranger Things. He also appeared as "Jesus" in a special performance of the "Godspell Cast of 2032" after a performance of the 2011 revival of Godspell.

Personal life

Matarazzo grew up in Little Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. He began attending Pinelands Regional High School in September 2016, which he appreciates for its "really awesome theater program".

He has cleidocranial dysplasia, a trait he shares with his Stranger Things character.

Matarazzo puts on fake teeth as a result of his condition, and said that he wanted to raise awareness about it during his interview in the Jonathan Ross Show.
