Girlfriend in a Coma is an upcoming American comedy television sitcom. It will be broadcast on NBC starting in 2013, starring Miranda Cosgrove. It will be based on the book of the same name by Douglas Coupland.

Synopsis

Karen goes into a coma after her first time. Seventeen years later she discovers that she had a daughter in a coma, Evie (Miranda Cosgrove), and finds her ex-boyfriend.

Production

In January 2013 Liz Brixius announces who is writing the pilot starring Christina Ricci and Miranda Cosgrove. On March 19, 2013, it was announced that Ricci would not be a part of the show. On August 14, 2013, it was announced that David Frankel signed with NBC to be the director of the pilot 'Girlfriend in a Coma'
