J. J. Feild Biography

John Joseph Feild (born circa 1978"1979), known professionally as J. J. Feild, is a British-American actor.

Early and education

John Joseph Feild was born in Boulder, Colorado, to English academic Reshad Feild and his American wife. Feild and his parents moved to London when he was a baby; they later divorced and remarried other people. Feild's stepfather is Jon Williams, the editor of BBC World News. Feild attended the Fine Arts College and the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art, both in London. When Feild was seventeen, he and his older brother went traveling around Tibet.

Career

He has appeared in several film and television roles, including the role of Simon Doyle in the television series Poirot's version of Death on the Nile, and as Paul Osbourne in Marple "The Pale Horse". He has also appeared in Northanger Abbey as Henry Tilney and in the televised version of The Ruby in the Smoke as Frederick Garland. His film roles include playing the younger version of Michael Caine's character in Last Orders and playing the role of Heinz in Telstar.

In 2008, he made his West End debut in Ring Round the Moon. In 2011, Feild co-starred in Captain America: The First Avenger as James Montgomery Falsworth. The same year, he starred alongside Benedict Cumberbatch in Third Star and appeared in the BBC adaptation of Sarah Waters' The Night Watch. The actor will appear as Henry Nobley in Jerusha Hess's adaptation of Shannon Hale's novel Austenland in 2012. Feild began filming a role in Not Safe for Work in 2012.

Personal life

As of 2009, Feild spends half the year in Los Angeles and the other half in London. In March 2012, Feild and his partner, actress Neve Campbell, confirmed that they were expecting their first child together. Campbell gave birth to their son, Caspian, in August.
