Katherine Joy Putnam, (born December 9, 1986) is an American beauty pageant titleholder from Oak Grove, Louisiana who was named Miss Louisiana 2009.

Biography

She won the title of Miss Louisiana on June 20, 2009, when she received her crown from outgoing titleholder Blair Abene. Her competition talent was a piano performance of the "Hallelujah Chorus" from Handel's Messiah. Putnam's mother is originally from Shillong, India, making Putnam the first major Indian American beauty pageant winner. Putnam is a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Monroe, with a degree in music performance.
